Accessibility Statement

Last updated: — Version 1

Our commitment

The National Parent Forum of Scotland is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, in line with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Accessibility features

This website has been designed with the following accessibility features:

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
  • Skip-to-main-content link on every page
  • Keyboard navigation support throughout
  • Sufficient colour contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text)
  • Text alternatives for all meaningful images
  • Responsive design that works across devices and screen sizes
  • Form labels and error messages that are clearly associated with their fields
  • ARIA landmarks and roles where appropriate
  • Focus indicators visible on all interactive elements

PDF publications

We are working to ensure all our educational publications are available in accessible HTML format as well as PDF. Where PDF-only versions exist, we will provide an accessible alternative on request. Please contact us at admin@npfs.org.uk if you need a publication in an alternative format.

Known issues

We are aware of the following accessibility issues and are working to resolve them:

  • Some older PDF publications may not be fully accessible — we are progressively converting these to HTML
  • Some embedded content from third-party services may not meet all accessibility standards

Testing

This website has been tested using:

  • Automated accessibility tools (axe, Lighthouse)
  • Manual keyboard navigation testing
  • Screen reader testing (VoiceOver, NVDA)
